Appalicious.

Working non stop on the story app for iOS. I am of course enjoying it, but actually right now what gets me going is the knowledge I can start the new project as soon as this one is done. Phew!

Yay! It is here, the christmas card I made for Djurens rätt that will be in their webshop. I am hoping it will be up for sale soon. Got some samples in the mail the other day, and they came out very well. I am excited about being a part of their christmas card collection!

The story in progress. Coming to an end.

There will be dogs in space, badgers, them evil guys and flower pots in the story me and Jonas are working on as an iPad saga. How will it end? Who is the badger? Will there be justice? Questions are many. Answers will come.

Friday furry raccoon.

Love them raccoons. I know they're not very popular in North America, but how I actually enjoyed seeing them sneaking around our yard when I lived there. Many are the stories and encounters with them, but I especially remembered one night when I was up working and I could tell someone was looking at me. In our house in Vancouver BC our entrance door had glass windows, and I looked out. It was dark and late autumn but I saw two glowing eyes stare back at me.
Then I remembered. We usually put our trash outside the door so we could dispose it in the garbage when we left. But this day we completely forgot about it, which for the racoons resulted in a stinky awesome bag of supper, impossible to resist.

Since we were more fascinated than bothered about the fact that we had to clean the mess later (I know most people would say this is a mistake, but please excuse us for being curious swedes, not used to being close to those animals), we sneaked up to the door, and we could actually watch two raccoons piercing the plastic and digging through the bag in search for something to eat - just casually throwing out the less interesting things - like tiny pieces of paper and food package. My face against the window, being on a couple of centimeters length from the hungry poor fellow. I will never forget the look one of the raccoons had when searching through the bag while being terrified about seeing me on the other side of the glass. A rebel. Those black tiny little eyes fixed at me, conquering fear for food.

Such courage should always be rewarded. They found some avocado and half an apple at least. We got a night of cleaning the chaos with plastic gloves, but I would say it is one of the most memorable times with Canadian wildlife that I will always remember.

View from kitchen.

(Except I don't have a forest outside my kitchen window. Just houses and neighbors.)

Birthday card for a thunder bear.

Autumn in her shiny dress and dusty windows.

Autumn is passing by. Everyday the trees outside my windows loose more and more leaves. Yesterday a minor stormy wind blew most of them away. Mornings are dark and both me and cat goes in to hibernate even though there a lots and lots of things to do. I am studying a class in drawing for comics and freelancing at the same time. Most of the time I work from home and it means my own coffee, music and all gadgets I need to draw my own stuff whenever I feel I need to. Enjoy this season everyone, and don't forget to drink hot beverages and take naps.

A book.

Look! The new annual book from Illustratörcentrum has arrived!

(Lovely illustration on cover by the talented Therese Larsson)

Yay, on page 112-113 you can find foxes, otters and cats. Thanks to Rachel Hahn who helped me out with the copy for my spread. And to Jonas Erickson for the photographs of my paint stained fingers holding this book!

New project! Comics!

I have found a new medium and new ways of working by learning from amazing and talented people. Comics. Why did I not work with that before? I am taking my time to complete my first one right now. A comic for children with a story about things; finding and loosing them - how we never own them and sometimes how they seem to live their own life independently from us.

x

Kitty had a hard time deciding colour of bowtie

So he tried a bunch before deciding to be formal and go with black.

Update.

I just stopped commuting and are transforming in to the freelancer I used to be. It feels great. I am also taking a class in comic drawing at Malmö Högskola. Fun!
Here are some of the drawings I did for practice today. Warning for disproportional chubby horse below!

Memories from Gotland bike trip.

Well. This is a while ago, but I haven't been around to post anything for a while. Me and a friend went on a bike trip to Gotland. Visby, Fårösund, camped next to a lighthouse in Fårö, and then back to Visby again for some axe throwing at the medieval festival. A real adventure.

Modelling hedgehog

A friend of mine that works for a magazine needed a model hedgehog to be in a cover photo of the latest issue.
So I drew her one.

Fall pattern.

October is foxes, berries, leaves, strong winds and strong coffee. Exactly my type of month for being inside and getting things done. I feel the need for it now - and the ideas and projects are waiting, both on my desk in forms of preparations for artwork, but also in dreams and thoughts. I am eager to start. First up, I will be working on something really really fun for Djurens rätt (Animals rights) Sweden that have to be done before october ends. Good times awaits.

Things found in random places on my computer. An otter inviting to fika.

The big adventure.

I have had a couple of days out on a real adventure with dragons, fires, medieval vikings, rain and pancakes.
Pretty much all of the ingredients I think I could wish for. I am back working and plan to share some pics soon!

Dragon ermine illustration.

Here is dragon ermine, cruising the indian summer nights, among music, lanterns and the birds in the sky. Where is he going? We don't know, but by the look of determination on his face - it is somewhere important.

A post without drawings. A visit to Christiania, Copenhagen and some stuff at home.

One sunday we met up with our friends visiting from Brighton and went to Christiania. A beautiful Buddhist temple we came across.

Door in Christiania.

Something completely different; my tomatoes that grow on my balcony finally gave some crop! And also, here my obsession in pattern and color is pretty clear.

Interior stuff at casa.
